print outfits

Bohemian styling has reached another chapter. In the past, it used to be presented in a very feminine sense. With clear-cut lines and heavier materials, printed clothing has now given a new attitude to female print outfits. Big necklaces will do for a Bohemian outfit!

She (above) is a socialite in Taiwan. Here, she arranged these colors well in pairs so it the two prints do not compete or look frivolous. Following are other pieces you may wish to include in your shopping list if you love print too:

Shoes: no brand from LA / Skirt: asos / Top: Marshalls / Scarf: Anthropology / Belt: American Apparel

This is the last weekend before we will be traveling outside the States. We’re using this chance to take some photos in downtown Houston—what great weather in Texas;  it’s November!  I personally love these shoes, I got them from a boutique store in LA. They’re only $34! This chiffon top I got from Marshalls (about $12), and I instantly regretted buying it because it was way too big on me. But, luckily, I got this skirt from asos, and one day I just put them together randomly, and they go well. So, this will be an occasional outfit of mine!

Lately, my dog has been looking more like a lion… That’s why I had to give him a hair cut! I am not a professional dog barber, but this way, I save too much!

There is some sort of confusion going on in my head. It is very difficult to concentrate when your mind is somewhere else. People can dream, but the dream might never come true. It is a very brave decision to pursue your dreams, because the reality is not creating for everyone to success. I am tried of what I am doing in my real-life job, because that’s not what I want out of life. But hey, life has to go on, and sitting aside awaiting dreams to come true wasn’t logical to me. So, here I am, writing this blog, expressing and documenting my life, and I am satisfied! : ))

How to Wear Leather Pants

Image

November 6, 2012

A friend of mine recently got herself a pair of leather pants, but she told me she has no idea of how to put them together to complete the outfit. I came up with this suggestion, and she said she loved the look—she wore it to work today!

She doesn’t wear heels and she loves loafers, so I suggested this type of loafer for her. I love the look of a nice pair of comfy loafers that are unisex and not too girly. The situation worked out well for us, because I got to go shopping, and she got a look that she loves! These loafers are Marc by Marc Jacobs via Net – A – Porter ($225, discounted right now). Love everything about this one, the color, the material, and the tassels!

Then, I picked this sweater (TopShop, $52) and the scarf (Mango, $29.99) for her to go with the leather pants. What I was looking for were pieces that could balance out the “muscleman” look of her leather pants. Yellowish tones and red shoes set the entire look alight in the cold weather!

And this has me thinking: if you have any “how to wear” questions, please feel free to ask Spot Optique, we’d love to answer ; )

She is a incredibly talented fashion designer. Her wedding dresses in particular are just so lovely—incomparable wedding dresses that have become many girls’ dream dress.

I came across this post on Weibo.com (I have translated it into English), and I want to share with everyone who once had a dream and is still working to make it happen:

[She started ice-skating at eight and kept it up for ten years, but she didn't get to join the national team; she was once to determined to have a fashion career, worked at a magazine company for sixteen years, but she was rejected for promotion so she sadly had to leave; she waited until her forties until finally marrying boyfriend of ten years; for some reason, she was found to be infertile, so she adopted two daughters; her family collected 400 million dollars, so she had her first career, she is the queen of the bridal veil, she is Vera Wang.]

Remember: Don’t be afraid of the bumpy road in life, as long as you have a dream!
